Widows Assistance

" One of the principal duties of Mason's is the pledge to aid and assit our passed Brethern's widows and orphans. While the context of the meaning of this may have changed over the centuries the concept and pledge have remained the same. As a result of this, Somerset Lodge # 111 has established a on going Widows Program. A Committee has been appointed to oversee this program, the goal of which is to identify widows of past Breathen of Somerset Lodge# 111 and determine what assitance can be provided to them, check on them ongoing basis and provide direction, when assitance can not be provided for by the Breathen. The goal is to at the very least form a support system, to let our widows know that there is someone who still cares about the commitment their passed spouse had at one time professed.. Also we must not forget they are also a part of our Fraternity. The goal is not to replace existing programs of assitance in the community but when possible provide assitance and direction that may make the life of our widows easier.
